Earthquakes, Nuclear Power, and Kinetic Towers - Inhabitat's Week in Green Mar 17th

Dear Inhabitants-

Happy St Paddy's Day! We hope you're all having a great "green" holiday (in the literal and environmental sense of the word) - to celebrate, we've rounded up our favorite intoxicating sustainable designs, evergreen fashions, and even a DIY leprechaun trap.

On a more serious note, this week we saw proof that good design can save lives as Tokyo's stringent building codes prevented a single skyscraper from toppling during the strongest earthquake in recent history. We also looked at the escalating nuclear crisis in Japan and the impact it will have on global nuclear policy, and we explored ways that nuclear power plant construction will change in the wake of the disaster.
