One of World's Largest Algae Facility Opens
The ribbon was cut on one of the largest algae production sites in the world in Winchester, Kentucky. The state-of-the art algae fermentation facility, acquired last year by Alltech for a reported $14 million, has been renovated for production of algae-derived biofuel and ethanol, as well as value-added animal feed products. Following renovation, the $200 million-facility is expected to begin production in April 2011.

Greenhouse Gas-to-Fuels Technology Advances
Carbon Sciences, Inc. says its ready to bring its breakthrough technology for converting CO2 to fuels up to scale. The technology is based on a high performance catalyst for the efficient transformation of CO2 and methane gas into synthesis gas that can then be processed into gasoline and other fuels, a process known as CO2 reforming of methane.
