Dear Inhabitants-

If you're weary of dreary winter days, fear not - spring is right around the corner and exciting design events are beginning to sprout up everywhere! This week we dived into London Fashion Week right after we wrapped up our New York Fashion Week coverage with a look at 6 hot up-and-coming eco designers. We're also revving our (electric) engines for the start of the Geneva Auto Show next week, and we showcased our favorite sustainable ceramics from Cevisama 2011. Finally, we're thrilled to announce our Stop the Paper Towels Design Competition, which challenges you to put an end to paper towel waste through the power of good design...

Design the Next PeopleTowel and Win $500!

Did you know that each year the United States generates 3,000 tons of paper towel waste? (And kills a lot of trees and pollutes a lot of water while doing so...) To help reduce that appalling figure we've teamed up with PeopleTowels to launch our Stop the Paper Towels Design Contest - simply submit a graphic design for a reusable cloth towel that will encourage the world to cut paper towel waste and you could win $500 and all the fortune and fame that comes with being showcased on Inhabitat. The deadline for submissions is March 7th, so enter today!
