This January, 2011 Detroit seemed to be channeling 1969 London for a time. That's when Beatle George Harrison, to escape the burdens of the business world, took some time off to commune with nature and stroll around the home gardens of friend Eric Clapton. With a clear head, he emerged with his epic song "Here Comes the Sun;" a tune that 42-years later you could almost hear walking around the floor of this year's North American International Auto Show... Autoline After Hours
If you didn't catch last night's show LIVE, watch it now at the website.

This week it's time for that big, important talk about journalistic ethics. One of tonight's guests is Scott Burgess, former auto critic for The Detroit News. He left the paper after editors made changes to his article about the Chrysler 200 because of complaints from an advertiser. We'll be asking Scott what happened and whether he might go back to the paper now that they have reversed their changes. Also, can you get an unbiased review these days -- especially from the buff books? Should journalists accept trips from automakers to drive their new cars? John McElroy is also joined in studio by the Autoextremist, Peter De Lorenzo, as well as fellow journalist Sharon Terlep who covers the auto industry for The Wall Street Journal.

RoundAbout
RoundAbout LIVE Tonight!
RoundAbout Show
Introducing the newest show to join the Autoline network of programs: RoundAbout!

Tonight’s the “You're Doing it Wrong” episode and the guest is the one and only Jim Hall of 2953 Analytics. You may recognize him as the “evilest host of Autoline Daily,” but he’s also got an encyclopedic knowledge of car design. Tonight the RoundAbout crew debuts a new segment called Design Hall. The topic will be fender vents, and you’re going to learn more than you ever wanted to know.

RoundAbout is a podcast devoted to the weird, under-reported and humorous side of automotive news and car culture. Each week, led by Autoline correspondent Craig Cole, our crack team of contributors, picks an automotive theme and gathers to talk about the news items and whatever else they can contort to fit that theme. We also talk about what new (or old) cars we’ve been driving each week, check out the latest viral videos and look at hot new auto gadgets.

Instant Impression - Mazda5

Its compact dimensions are a liability when it’s time to haul sheets of plywood or a gaggle of kids to soccer practice, but they pay off handsomely in other areas, namely the fun-to-drive, fuel-economy and parkability departments... Click Here»
